COUNSELLING: DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, GRIEF
Depression and anxiety can be overpowering
Affecting all areas of your life. You may feel alone or isolated. Perhaps you believe that others do not have the capacity to understand you.
While we all feel sad, moody or low from time to time, you may experience these feelings intensely, for long periods of time (weeks, months or even years) and sometimes without any apparent reason. Depression is more than just a low mood – it’s a serious condition that affects your physical and mental health.
Experiencing occasional anxiety is a normal part of life. However, with anxiety disorders, you may frequently have intense, excessive and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. Often, anxiety disorders involve repeated episodes of sudden feelings of intense anxiety and fear or terror that reach a peak within minutes (panic attacks).
There is hope for both depression and anxiety. It has been evidence base that with counselling people respond well and have not only recovered, but got back to the lives they wanted.
